Automatic template selection

SpeechReport creates documents based on templates. These templates add structure to documents and provide information from integrations and the SpeechReport environment itself can be pre-populated. Which template is used for a document is directed by the selected Worktype. The templates are defined here.

Template selection

When a clinician has a list of items to work on, there will be a variety of types of reports (i.e. examination types) to report upon. Each type of report may need a different template and therefore a different Worktype needs to be selected. To make the system more flexible and easier, the ability to manually change the template used for the Worktype will be offered by the SpeechReport Client.

The new document dialog, the Import dialog and the clinical worklist dialog will offer the possibility to change the template.
Prefilling the default template will still be done based on the Worktype selected but can now be changed more easily. Also, the selected template will be visible in the Document Properties.

Automatic Template selection
When we start a new document based on some identifier, most of the time we are already aware of the type of report a clinician is going to report on. This means SpeechReport can assist in automatically assigning the correct template for the report type (i.e. determined via the universal service ID of the examination). In most cases the template is automatically assigned, and in some cases a list of candidate templates is suggested, and one can be chosen by the user at the start of document creation. This automatic selection can be configured in the Administration module, within the Worktype definition. Here rules can be defined as to which template needs to be used for which report type.

Fixated fallback template

When working with template rules, the default template is considered the fallback template for the worktype. This template will be provided when no rule results a candidate template. When the author does not deem this template appropriate, the user is free to select a template that is available to him.
By selecting ‘disallow changing the template at document creation’ the user will not be able to select any other template than this fallback template when the rules do not result a candidate.
