Input devices

Input device settings can now be set per input device.
A pathologist often uses a four-button foot pedal during macroscopic research and a three-button foot pedal during microscopic.
Configuration can be set in the SpeechReport client settings. Under the input devices tab there are general settings that apply to all input devices.

General input device settings

Foot pedal configuration is now set per type of input device. Furthermore, you can configure settings specific for all attached input devices.
The configuration of a three and four button device will remain at user level with a default value pre-defined.

Input device specific configurations

There are two ways in which you can work with an input device:

1. Toggle: the button works as an on-off button
If “toggle” is selected, press once on the playback/record button to start playback/recording. To stop playback/recording, press the playback/record button again.

2. Press and hold: keep the button pressed in
If “press and hold” is selected, continue holding the playback/record button as long as you want to playback/record the audio. To stop playback/recording, release the playback/record button.
Handheld device mapping

When a button is pressed, the device will light up in the settings menu to indicate which device is being used. Also, button mapping for Handheld devices like a SpeechMike or RecMic is now available, comparable with the foot control button mapping. By doing this, more configuration options have become available for the foot controls as well. Each available button can be configured as desired. The same function can be configured on multiple buttons at the same time as well.

Foot control mapping

When a foot pedal button is held, there will be a coloured box around the pedal name in SpeechReport.
Select the correct mode per pedal from the following possibilities: Play, Record, Fast rewind, Fast forward, Finish document and New document.
