SpeechReport v3.3 vs .Net version 4.8.1

Dear Customer,

Microsoft has released a new version of .Net namely version 4.8.1.

During testing it was discovered that SpeechReport 3.x throws an error when this .Net version is applied on workstations. The error occurs when a document is open for editing and some text is selected by using the left button on a mouse to highlight the text.

At that moment a ‘Common Language Runtime’ message is displayed on the screen as well as the right-click menu (even though right-click was never clicked).

When the continue button is pressed, the error disappears however the right-clink menu is stuck on the screen. It is still possible to edit the document behind the right-click menu, and you can also suspend the document but doing so triggers the error again. After the document has been suspended or transitioned to the next workflow stage, clicking the ‘continue’ button on the error message will allow the user to continue as normal.

The issue seems to be related to the editor that is used in the SpeechReport Client and will be resolved in the upcoming SpeechReport 3.4 release. At this moment we are also investigating possibilities to implement a solution to earlier versions of SpeechReport. We have not seen the scenario we have outlined above on workstations with .Net version 4.8.0 or lower.
