Calibrating the microphone

After starting the application for the first time the microphone calibration wizard will appear if you are using a microphone other than a Philips SpeechMike.
Calibration should be done before any dictations are created to ensure optimal performance.

Calibrating the microphone
Follow the instructions in the wizard. Step 1 measures the background noise so that it will be ignored, when for example working in a noisy room. In step 2 the recording levels are set to adapt to your voice pitch and volume. Dictate the text shown in step 2 until you see the message “calibration has been performed successfully”.
